Scenario of Local Footwear Brand in Bangladesh

Though Bangladesh situated in south Asia, with a large number of population these people have a tiny history on footwear. After liberation war in 1971 total shoe industry had broken down. Since then there were only couples of footwear brand. But recently a number of Footwear Company expending their local market and this is absolutely good news for Bangladeshi people. Bangladesh achieving good number in GDP and been declaring themselves as a developing country. Life style of Bangladeshi people really improving. At least if we look in their foot and footwear we can see that. We should keep in mind that shoe is the last observing point of a citizen and luxury footwear only indicate that how luxurious is that person.

Since liberation war one footwear exit till today and that is Bata. In Bangladesh, Bata started its operation in 1962. Currently Bata Shoe Company (Bangladesh) Limited operates two manufacturing facilities – one in Tongi and the other in Dhamrai. With a production capacity of 160,000 pairs of shoes daily. Annual shoe sales currently stands about 30 million pairs.

After that 1990 another footwear company named Apex Footwear Limited started their operation and successfully operating their business in Bangladesh. Right now Apex footwear Limited becomes leading footwear brand in Bangladesh. In 2015 Apex Footwear Limited celebrates its 25 anniversary.

After that another company doing successful business in local footwear market. Fortuna Bangladesh, they established their company as a manufacture and export garments. After that they expanded their in tannery related business and founded Fortuna Leather Craft Ltd for footwear and leather accessories manufacturer. They own a number of showrooms where their product can be found. Right now they have production capacity of 6000 pair daily.

And now its many other company emerging in local footwear market. At least twenty different company trying to establish themselves as Footwear Company. Good luck Bangladesh. Happy Foot.
